Massage
Treatments

Want to work with me? Check out the various massage treatments I offer at my practice. Please note this is NOT an all-inclusive list.

Your first appointment.

I suggest that you book a minimum of 60 minutes for your first appointment. During you first visit, I will conduct a consultation. We will go over your intake forms, discuss your goals, and outline a plan of care that is tailored to you. Massage therapy appointments include an assessment and homecare recommendations, and possible referrals for other healthcare providers.

As a part of your plan of care, I may recommend a treatment schedule. This may include routine follow-ups or a ‘book as you need’ approach. I can also recommend a follow-up schedule that compliments any other modalities you may be pursuing (i.e. physiotherapy, chiropractic, etc).

Appointments are booked by treatment length only as recommended during your first appointment. Specific massage techniques, like cupping, do not have a set or required appointment duration.

Therapeutic Massage

1

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue. It focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue and is effective in improving muscle tone and relieving muscle tension. Treatments are tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient, offering a deeply relaxing and therapeutic experience.

2

Trigger Point Release

Trigger point release is a specialized massage technique that helps to reduce painful knots in the muscles, known as trigger points. It works by using specific compressions to reduce or eliminate abnormal muscle contractions, and improve muscle function. This massage treatment is very specific and only indicated when trigger points are present.

3

Cupping

Cupping therapy is a traditional massage technique that uses suction, either dynamic (moving) or stationary, to improve muscle tone and reduce pain. It is proven to increase blood flow, reduce abnormal muscle tone, and reduce nervous system firing. Cups can sometimes leave dark circles or markings on the body. Cups are either silicone or plastic.

Massage has also been proven to improve conditions like torticollis, reduced motor skills, pain, and post-birth musculoskeletal injuries. Incorporating massage into your baby's routine can greatly enhance their overall well-being and support their emotional and physical development.

Perinatal Massage

1

Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy massage is for expecting mothers who are 0-40+ weeks. A combination of side-lying and semi-reclined positions are used during the treatment to optimize comfort and bump support. Safe and effective during all trimesters of pregnancy, including early and active labour. Together, we will create a plan of action for your unique goals.

2

Postpartum Massage

Postnatal massage is focused on concerns new moms are experiencing. Massage therapy is safe immediately after birth in most cases. If you experienced any complications during birth, emergency c-sections, or are put under observation post-birth I may advise you seek medical clearance before resume massage therapy.

3

Pelvic Health

Pelvic health reasoning is incorporated into all of my prenatal and postpartum massage therapy treatments. Your pelvic floor constantly adjusts during pregnancy, delivery, and recovery. I use my pelvic floor knowledge to treat impairments associated with weakened pelvic muscles, incontinence, pain during intercourse, and more.
